Mrs. Jadwiga Apolonia Romanczyk Bator, 91, of Vass, NC, died Monday, May 6, 2024, at her residence.

Jadwiga was born February 9, 1933, in southern Poland, to the late Andrzej Romanczyk and Helena Koman.  She was a loving wife, mother, and pillar of strength for her family.  Her legacy of love, resilience, and selflessness will forever be cherished.

Jadwiga’s life began amidst the turmoil of World War II, and she experienced firsthand the hardships and challenges that came with it.  Despite the ravages of war, she persevered and emerged as a symbol of resilience and hope.  After the war, Jadwiga made the courageous decision to emigrate to the United States, seeking a better life for herself and her loved ones.

Family was the anchor of Jadwiga’s life, and her devotion to her husband and children knew no boundaries.  She was the glue that held the family together, nurturing them with unwavering love and support.  Her selflessness knew no limits, and she dedicated herself to their well-being and happiness.

Jadwiga possessed a heart full of compassion and genuine desire to help others.  She found joy in lending a helping hand to those in need, always ready to offer her assistance and support.  Her kind and generous spirit touched the lives of many, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion.

Beyond her dedication to her family and her acts of kindness, Jadwiga had a zest for life. She embraced each day with a radiant smile and an unwavering optimism.  Her warmth and laughter were contagious, and she had a way of making everyone around her feel loved and cherished. She truly never met a stranger. Once you became her friend, you also became her family.

As we bid farewell to Jadwiga, we celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the indelible impact she had on all who knew her. Although she may no longer be physically present, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.  May her memory be a source of comfort and strength as we navigate life without her.
