You came, you saw, you drooled. Admit it, you want it: Open floor plans, granite counters, spacious spa bathrooms, rich cabinetry. For two weekends the Home Builders Association of Fayetteville pulled out all the stops for the 22nd annual Parade of Homes. More than 30 residences in Cumberland, Hoke and Harnett counties were on display, ranging from condominiums to large houses Allow us to introduce you to the best of the Parade. For 22 years, the Home Builders Association of Fayetteville and its sponsors have organized the parade to show off the most cutting-edge style. The association is a non-profit trade group with more than 600 members representing 20,000 professionals in the building industry. It tracks the latest trends, news and standards. Thanks to recent tax credits and some of the lowest mortgage rates in recent memory, more people are buying new homes or making improvements to their current homes than ever. “Now is one of the best times to purchase a new home,” said Natalie Woodbury, executive director of the Home Builders Association of Fayetteville. Parade Chair Wendy Harris of Team Harris Real Estate says buyers are looking for high-end amenities and open floor plans. She says people also came to the Parade looking for ideas to bring to existing homes. Premier Construction, Inc., a longtime parade participant, entered three homes this year. Known for innovative design, the homes in the Oak Park neighborhood were no exception.
