A Special Mellow Farewell Out-of-town Contractor Finds Home at Mellow Mushroom
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Capital Food Group (www.thecapitalfoodgroup.com), the franchisee of Mellow Mushroom Fayetteville (www.mellowmushroom.com/fayettevillenc), has announced it will host “Andrew Night” on Thursday, December 15, 2011 to say farewell to one of its most loyal customers. At the end of the week, Andrew Skinner, a government contractor from Washington D.C., is moving back home after a six-month contracting stint in Fayetteville.
“Andrew was one of our first customers, Beer Club members and regulars and he’s been with us almost every day since we opened,” said Reid Fogleman, principle owner of the store. “It’s a privilege to be his ‘home away from home’ and we can’t let him go without a proper send off.”
Festivities for “Andrew Night” will include an inaugural appearance by the store’s own “Mel” mascot and a unique dedication. At 7 p.m., Fogleman will unveil a permanent name plaque on Andrew’s favorite bar stool and dedicate it to him.
“He’s been with us from the beginning and he’s going to stay with us until the end,” said Fogleman. “Andrew will always be a part of our history at this store.”
Mellow will serve some of Andrew’s favorite food and drink specials. In addition, staff will wear uniforms with the messaging, “Hand tossed. Stone baked. Mellow loves Andrew Skinner.” The event is intended to be a surprise for Andrew.
“Andrew Night” is one of three holiday-giving events Mellow is hosting this month. On Tuesday, December 13 from 4-9 p.m., Mellow will donate 10% of sales to the Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation’s Friends of the Cancer Center (www.capefearvalley.com/cancer/friends). In addition, throughout the month of December, Mellow has been a collection point for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast North Carolina’s (http://cap-inc.org/foodbank) can drive. On Monday, December 19 from 4-9 p.m., Mellow will donate 10% of sales to fight hunger.
“These events are intended to take care of those who could use some extra help during the holidays and deserve to feel special,” said David Harris, the store’s general manager. “Our season of giving will last year round as giving back to this community has been a founding principle of ours since day one.”
