August 22: Pond Exploration @ Cape Fear Botanical Gardens
Even though you can’t always see them, the Garden’s pond is home to many living things! From 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., be prepared to get muddy and learn what types of critters might be found in the pond. You will practice how to use a dip net to to catch and release fish, tadpoles and maybe even a frog!
September 5: All-day Skate @ Round-A-Bout Skating Center
Skate all day! A $9 admission fee will get you skate time from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and even includes skate rental, a hot dog and a drink! Whee! For more information: http://www.round-a-bout.com.
September 6 & 10: Nature Tales: Birds of a Feather @ Cape Fear Botanical Garden
This FREE story and nature time is presented in partnership with the Cumberland County Public Library. Each month students explore a different natural science theme and the theme for September is "Birds of a Feather!" Ages 2-4 will meet at 10:00 a.m. and ages 5-6 will meet at 11 a.m. Pre-registration is required. Just call at least two business days in advance. For more information: www.capefearbg.org.
September 9-18: Cumberland County Fair @ Crown Complex
The fair is back in town! Have you ever been? The Cumberland County Fair is a great opportunity to showcase our local legacy of agricultural communities and to celebrate all the different local arts and crafts. September 17: Mini-Golf Family Day @ J.P. Riddle Stadium

September 23-25: International Folk Festival
Thanks to the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County, this is the 38th year for the International Folk Festival! It’s a great way to explore different cultures, foods, music and languages all without even getting on a plane.
