All-American Fayetteville Challenge
Fayetteville Challenge

Description:

The USO of NC in partnership with the Downtown Alliance presents the All-American Fayetteville Challenge, a community event that will be held from 10am-1 pm, on Saturday, March 25, 2017, during the All American Marathon weekend. Cost is $30 per person.

The All-American Fayetteville Challenge will bring at least 200 participants to downtown Fayetteville for a morning of fun and exploration of many downtown landmarks and local businesses.

A smart phone-based web program will lead at least 100 teams of two through downtown Fayetteville and participants will have full view of locations and challenges for each. Members of each team will be required to complete a challenge at each location in order to earn points for the finish. In addition to landmark visits, teams will collect challenge tokens from downtown businesses, and visit additional points of interest along the way to earn extra points. Teams will be given a window of time to complete the challenge, and participants are encouraged to walk the route.

Fayetteville Challenge teams will use social media to post, tag, and share their progress, challenges and photos of places of interest. Participants will leave the rally point with swag bags filled with items from downtown businesses and sponsors and have 90 minutes to complete the Challenge.

The All-American Fayetteville Challenge will also have extra point challenges at other locations before wrapping up at the Transportation and Local History Museum for an awards ceremony and a light lunch.

All proceeds from the Fayetteville Challenge will benefit the USO of NC Fort Bragg programs and services offered to active duty service members and their families. Last year, the Fort Bragg/Fayetteville operations welcomed over 135,000 guests at locations in the Soldier Support Center, Warrior Transition satellite center, and Fayetteville airport travel center. Thousands more were served through homecomings, deployments, warrior and family programs and special events. Fundraisers are an important component of keeping operations, programs and services available and relevant to those served.
