Hop in the Park

The ‘Hop in the Park’ event allowed kids from all over the region to participate in a large Easter egg hunt.  Epicenter Church wanted to create an annual event that commemorates the Easter Holiday here in Fayetteville.

All proceeds from this event went towards scholarships for High School Seniors, continuing education for Military Spouses, and to Welfare Grants for the Military community.

Pinwheel Garden Planting

The Child Advocacy Center hosted a Pinwheel Garden planting ceremony on Wednesday, April 1st.  The pinwheel is used as a symbol that represents a happy and safe childhood: one that every child should have. They will be displayed throughout the month of April in front of the CAC building.

Threads of History

In recognition of March as both Social Work Month and Women’s History Month, the Methodist University Department of Social Work hosted “Threads of History: Powerful Women in Service.” Dr. Mary Lynn Bryan, The Honorable Patricia Timmons-Goodson, The Honorable Margaret Highsmith Dickson and Dr. Sharon W. Cooper all spoke and shared their words of wisdom at the event.

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy Fayetteville presented their business plans to the Investor Panel at AIT Inc. Jason Williams, the Investor Panel Chair, presented the semi-finalist nomination for the Jason Williams Scholarship to the student with the best business plan.

Men gathered in downtown Fayetteville to take a stand against sexual violence by ‘walking a mile’ in high heels. This annual event not only raises awareness for RCVCC but particpants get to have a little fun while doing so too!

Chamber Grand Opening

Over 400 people gathered around to watch the ribbon cutting of the Chamber’s new home in downtown Fayetteville. Their old sign, now full of everyone’s signatures, will be hung in their new, forever home.

St. Jude Zumbathon

This event featured two-hours of dancing to a live DJ with instructors from many gyms throughout Fayetteville, and included a variety of dances from Latin to Hip-hop. All proceeds from this event went to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
