Sculpture dedication

The Arts Council of Fayetteville-Cumberland County and its Board of Trustees dedicated a new sculpture on Oct. 10 to former executive director Deborah Mintz, who retired this year after 25 years with the organization. The piece, which will be a permanent public art piece downtown, features Mintz’s beloved rescue dog, Cayley, and a goat. The goat is a nod to another Hill work, “For No Apparent Reason,” which was a popular temporary display in downtown Fayetteville. The new sculpture is entitled “Deborah’s Joy.”
