Walk Awhile in Her Shoes

WALK AWHILE is a family-friendly walk in which men are asked to wear high-heeled shoes to show their support for women throughout the community.

The walk went from the Market House to the AIT building; there was a reception which followed the event. This event is to support the Rape Crisis of Cumberland County.

Awards were given out for the following:

Strut Your Stuff Award– for the guy who really channeled his inner woman and worked those heels
The Stiletto Award – for the most spirited guy who rose to the occasion, put aside all inhibitions and who whole heartily embraced our cause
The Platform Award -for the individual who stands head and shoulders above the rest
The Nike Award – for the one who sashayed to victory in his high heeled stride
Leading The Way Award – in honor of Keegan Nixon a young man who showed us all what a real man stands for.

The mission of RCVCC is to achieve zero tolerance for the crime of sexual violence and to reduce its trauma. RCVCC strives to reach this goal through community-wide educational programs to promote awareness about sexual assault and the issues related to the crime, and by providing compassionate, professional services to the victims and survivors of sexual assault.
