“For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me on that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.” II Timothy 4:6-8

Geraldine Bryant, 74, transitioned from this life on Monday, February 6, 2023. She, the second of seven children born out of the union of the late John Bryant, Jr. and Bonnie Kate Sansbury Bryant on February 27, 1948, in Parkton, North Carolina. She was the proud mother of Melody Bryant Bishop, who preceded her in death.

Geraldine attended Robeson County Public School and graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1966. Geraldine loved the Lord and at an early age accepted Christ as her personal savior. Unconditional love of God and family was a central part of her belief. She was an active member of the First Missionary Baptist Church, Parkton, NC, where she served faithfully on the Pastor’s Aide, as a member of the Mission and the Floral Club.

Geraldine will be remembered as a woman of grace, honor, and perseverance, but above all else, as a devoted Christian. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Bryant, Jr. and Bonnie Kate Bryant; her daughter, Melody Bishop, her sister; Beckalene Bryant and two brothers; Ronnie E. Bryant and John Bryant, III. She is survived by one sister, Olivia McCormick, three brothers Jerry Lee Bryant, Donnie Bryant (Betty) and Eddie Marcus Bryant (Sandra), two grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and special friends.
