Prior to hosting the Environmental Protection Agency’s announcement on Wednesday of new national PFAS “forever chemical” safety standards for drinking water, board members of the Fayetteville Public Works Commission will meet to consider more local matters:
- Leaders from the Cape Fear Regional Theatre will make a presentation about the theater’s expansion project. The non-profit theater at the top of Haymount Hill plans to spend $20 million to massively remodel and expand. As of last summer, the theater had raised $10.5 million, in addition to receiving grants totaling $2.5 million from the Fayetteville City Council and $2.1 million from the legislature.
- Receive an information technology update from the PWC Chief Technology Officer Mark Lawler.
- Recommend approval of bids totaling nearly $2.25 million for various electrical system equipment items. These are to be forwarded to the Fayetteville City Council for final approval.
The Fayetteville Public Works Commission is Fayetteville’s city-owned water, sewer and electric utility company. Its commissioner meetings are open to the public.
