The Fayetteville History Museum presents the City Market at the Museum, 325 Franklin St., every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This is a year-round, open-air market featuring local produce and artisans.
Tarheel K9 to 5 is collecting donations on Dec. 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as part of a pet outreach program It is looking for donations of dog food, cat food and limited pet supplies for impoverished, low-income and nomadic communities.
Holiday Lights in the Garden, presented by Cape Fear Botanical Garden, 536 N. Eastern Blvd., is scheduled on selected nights from Dec. 1-22 from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $6 to $14. The event will feature Santa Claus, s'more and entertainment.
"Messiah,'' presented by the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra and Cumberland Choral Arts, is scheduled for Dec. 10 at Berean Baptist Church, 517 Glensford Drive, starting at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
