U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III visited Fort Bragg on Tuesday, the first time he has visited the post since his appointment to President Joe Biden’s Cabinet on Jan. 22, 2021. The 69-year-old Austin was expected to welcome home 300 members of the 18th Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg from their deployment to Europe as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine lingers, according to the Department of Defense.
