A special historic carriage tour in downtown Fayetteville combined with a guided tour inside Cool Spring Tavern, Fayetteville’s oldest building. We have partnered with Connections of Cumberland County’s Cool Spring Fling to bring you a special historic carriage ride!
The Historic Tours of Olde Fayetteville and Cool Spring Tavern will depart from the tavern every 30 minutes, starting at 11am and continuing until 3:30pm. You will experience one-half of your “adventure in history” as a passenger on our horse-drawn touring wagon. This exclusive tour will focus on the 18th century landmarks on Cool Spring Street. The other half of your adventure will take place inside the circa 1788 Cool Spring Tavern itself, which is normally closed to the public. Docent Lulie Harry, whose family has owned the building since 1860, will regale you with stories about this building and its place in American history. Each “insider’s tour” lasts about 25 minutes and takes place once an hour every hour starting at 11:30am. In addition to these two unique tours, you can enjoy R Burger Food Truck, Gaston Brewing beverages, games, picnic, and other activities on the tavern grounds.
We strongly encourage you to order your tickets online by visiting (http://bit.ly/CoolSpringTavern) or calling the Cool Spring Downtown District’s office at 910-223-1089.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for those with Military ID, $10 for children 12 and under, and Free for children 5 and under. This low price is a $10 discount off our regular carriage tours and was created just for our partnership with Connections of Cumberland County and this special event.
