Two people face multiple drug charges after the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants at three locations on Wednesday and found fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana, a release said.
The Sheriff's Office said in the release that it partnered with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the Lee County Sheriff's Office and the Moore County Sheriff's Office in July to dismantle a drug trafficking organization operating in eastern North Carolina. During the investigation, approximately four pounds of methamphetamine and two ounces of heroin were purchased in Spring Lake, the release said.
On Wednesday, the Sheriff's Office executed search warrants at three locations — on Sandhill Drive in Fayetteville, on Rivers Edge Road in Spring Lake and on Eagle Street in Spring, the release said.
During the search, detectives seized approximately 59.98 grams of fentanyl, 2.32 grams of cocaine, 113.70 grams of methamphetamine and 610.05 grams of marijuana, the Sheriff’s Office said in the release.
Latiana Shanese McQueen, 33, of Spring Lake was arrested and charged with trafficking opium, possession with intent to sell cocaine, possession with intent to sell marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, manufacturing cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia, the release said.
Neal Advin Powell, 56, of Spring Lake was arrested and charged with trafficking by possession of methamphetamine and trafficking by possession of fentanyl, the release said.
