Three men have been arrested in the robbery of the Waffle House in the 2100 block of Cedar Creek Road, according to the Fayetteville Police Department

Police released photos of the suspects that were published in CityView and other media outlets.

The robbery was reported about 12:45 a.m. March 17, according to a news release. Investigators said two suspects entered the business, brandished a handgun and demanded that the cashier open the cash register. The cashier complied, and one of the suspects removed money from the register. The second suspect demanded money from another employee of the business, and the victim complied.

No other customers or employees were in the business at the time, the news release said. The suspects fled on foot.

Following several leads, the subjects were identified by detectives with the Police Department’s Major Crimes Division.

Those arrested are: Trishton Kentrell Hardy, 25, of Lillington; Algensi Calderon-Acevedo, 19, of Hope Mills; and Roderick Lee Stewart, 19, of Fayetteville.

Investigators said Hardy and Stewart entered the business then fled to a white Ford Expedition nearby that was driven by Calderon-Acevedo, the release said.

Hardy was arrested on March 18 without incident. He is charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon; conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon; second-degree kidnapping; and possession of stolen goods, the release said. Hardy was held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $450,000 secured bond.

On March 19, detectives located the white Ford Expedition, which had no license plate displayed, and made a traffic stop. Calderon-Acevedo was driving the vehicle, the release said. He was taken into custody without incident.

Detectives said Calderon-Acevedo was in possession of marijuana and was uncooperative. During a search on his vehicle, they found a mask and hoody worn by one of the suspects during the robbery; a handgun magazine; and drug paraphernalia, a news release said.

Calderon-Acevedo is charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon; conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon; second-degree kidnapping; possession of stolen goods; possession of marijuana; and resisting arrest. Hardy was held at the county jail under a $550,000 secured bond, a release said.

On March 22, members of the Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team located Stewart at a residence in the 6500 block of Vineyard Drive. He was arrested without incident. In a search of the residence, detectives seized three firearms and felony amounts of marijuana, the release said.

Stewart is charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon; conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon; second-degree kidnapping; possession of stolen goods; possession with intent to sale or deliver marijuana; and maintaining a dwelling for drug trafficking. Hardy was held at the county jail under a $510,000 secured bond, the release said.
