The 6By Visual Exhibit, presented by Cape Fear Studios, 148 Maxwell St., will be open to the public Aug. 24 through Sept. 19. Admission is free.
This exhibit features work from artists nation-wide. The art is 6” on one dimension and no more than 18” on its largest side. 50 artists from 15 states have submitted their art with 32 artworks accepted for the exhibit.
Judging is by Dwight Smith, currently an Associate Professor of Visual Art in the Department of Fine and Performing Art at Fayetteville State University and the director of the Rosenthal Art Gallery at the university. He is an exhibition curator, arts administrator, founder of the Ellington-White Contemporary Art Gallery in downtown Fayetteville.
There is $900 in cash awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place and two Honorable Mentons.
Cape Fear Studios is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p,m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
