Election season is ramping up again — this time in the City of Fayetteville’s mayoral and city council races.

Ten people are running for mayor. There’s also a race to elect city council members for each of the city’s nine districts.

To help voters get to know the candidates running in Fayetteville’s elections, organizations are hosting town halls and similar events leading up to Election Day on Nov. 4. Here’s a list.

Upcoming events

Fayetteville Freedom For All, a local grassroots activism organization, is hosting a town hall series in partnership with Common Cause NC and Democracy NC, organizations that advocate for democracy. The first was Aug. 14. The next ones are Sept. 25 and Oct. 21. Details for its upcoming town halls:

  • 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 25 at Kiwanis Recreational Center. This event will pose questions informed by the first town hall to primary election candidates in the Fayetteville mayoral and city council races.
  • Oct. 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at a yet-to-be-determined location. The event will ask questions of the general election candidates for Fayetteville mayor and city council.

More information on the town hall series is available on Common Cause’s website.
