Adelaide Tyndall Rozier, 90, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Adelaide was born on Jan. 11, 1933, in Sampson County to the late Clarence M. Tyndall and Muriel Taylor Tyndall.

She was a founding member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Vander Fire Department for 21 years and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church  and the Happy Friendship Sunday School Class. She was a homemaker and caretaker for many family members and friends.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandma, great-grandma and friend to all who knew her. She was known for her warmth, kindness and genuine hugs. She was a true Southern lady.

Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the service on Thursday.

Adelaide was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Alva C. Rozier; son, Michael W. Rozier; and brothers, Delbert Tyndall and Odell Tyndall.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet R. Drews and husband, Robert; son, Jerry C. Rozier and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Tiffany Royal and husband, Bradley, Maxwell Rozier, Stephen Drews and wife, Kachiri, Jacob Rozier, Braxton Rozier, and Lauren Rozier; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Carter, Bryson, Cole and Noah.
