Arias and Artifacts at Methodist University

Posted

Fayetteville commemorates the birth and life of Lafayette during several events over the weekend. This is an annual event that is held on the weekend after Labor Day.

Celebrations started Friday September 9, 2016 at Methodist University for Arias and Artifacts.  Event goers enjoyed free refreshments and viewed the latest additions to the memorabilia in Methodist University's Lafayette Collection.

Following this there was a live concert of French music by vocalist Gail Morfesis at Hensdale Chapel.

Professional musicians and singers, including Russian international pianist Anastasia Popova Bryant, also entertained the crowd with an hour-long performance of works by French composers.

This is North Carolina’s official Lafayette Birthday Celebration, as recognized by the NC General Assembly and the United States House and Senate.

The event was held September 9 and 10, 2016 in Historic Downtown Fayetteville, NC and other locations around the city.
