These student athletes in Cumberland County turned in standout performances this week.
Ty Stewart, Gray’s Creek, baseball: Stewart threw a complete 4-3 win against Pine Forest with 14 strikeouts and only two walks. For the week at the plate, he went 6-for-11 with seven RBIs.
Vanni Intini, Fayetteville Academy, lacrosse: In games with Greensboro Day and defending state champion Davidson Day, Intini scored 18 goals with six assists. She had 11 ground balls, caused two turnovers and won 24 of 33 draws. Fayetteville Academy won both games.
