Jane Farrell Cheney, 81, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on 09/19/22.

She was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Arnold Cheney, Jr.; her mother, Beaddy Farrell; her father, HB Farrell; and her brother, Henry Farrell Jr. Jane is survived by her husband of 61 years, Benjamin Cheney Sr. of Fayetteville NC; her daughter, Missy Farrow (Chris) of Raleigh, NC; grandsons, William Farrow (Sydney) of Raleigh NC, Reed Farrow (Hallie) of Wilmington, NC, Cliff and Alex Cheney of Fayetteville NC.

Jane was born in Fayetteville, NC. She graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1959 and attended Worth Business College. She met the love of her life, Ben, and they eloped to Dillion, SC in 1961 while Ben was still in High School. They kept their marriage a secret for a year!

Jane spent her younger years with friends and family at places like White Lake and Ocean Drive where the “Shag” was in style and enjoyed cruising the strand to the sounds of Elvis, Chuck Berry, The Kingston Trio, Bo Diddley, Ritchie Valens and so many more. Jane and Ben have many lifelong friends with whom they’ve made many memories. They have had the opportunity to travel the world, enjoyed cruises with “the Cruise Crew” and monthly dinners with friends in their Dinner Club.

Jane loved her church, her God, and her Sunday School Class. Village Baptist Church has been a constant for both Ben and Jane. Their faith has always been strong, and their church family has been a huge source of comfort and friendship for the Cheney family.

Jane spent the last three days of her earthly life in the care of “angels” at Duke Hospice-Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September the 24th at 9:00 am at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home.  A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am also on Saturday in the Chapel at Rogers and Breece with Pastor Nick Smith officiating. Graveside will follow the service at 11:00 am in Lafayette Memorial Park.
