Bobby Gene Knight, 78, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Marcia Rae Knight; daughter, Karen Conners; brothers, John Griffin and Vicktor Griffin Jr.; sister, Mary Cain Booth; mother, Joyce Griffin; father, John Knight; stepfather, Vicktor Griffin; and granddaughters, Samantha Knight and Olivia Knight.
Bobby leaves behind cherished memories with his loving family: daughter, Donna Knight Turnage (Jeremy) of Linden, NC; sons, Bobby Marcus Knight (Trina) of Simpsonville, SC, and Randal Knight (Stacy) of Spring Lake, NC; and daughter, Lauren McKay (Jeff) of Linden, NC. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Krista Giles, Matthew Giles, Josh Knight, Zackary Knight, Richard Connors, Jeffrey McKay, Spencer McKay, and Alessa Knight; as well as his great-grandchildren: August Giles-Houck, Juniper Giles-Houck, and Scout Giles. Bobby is also remembered by his brothers, Mitch Griffin and Jeffrey Griffin, and his sister, Connie Griffin Welch.
Bobby dedicated 33 years of service to Goodyear before retiring in 2003. He found joy in playing golf, fishing along the coast, and traveling the country with his family. A devoted Tar Heels and Braves fan, he especially loved watching games with his wife, Marcia. Bobby was a devoted family man who always put his loved ones first, offering help whenever needed. He had a lively spirit, staying busy and enjoying playful moments with his grandchildren.
A private celebration of life will be held at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home.
