Brenda Lucas Hair, 60, left her earthly home on Friday, February 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Brenda was born in Fayetteville, NC, on July 22, 1965, to James Lucas and the late Kay (Jones) Tew. She was preceded in death by her mother, Kay (Jones) Tew; her stepfather, William Tew; and her grandparents.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Michael; her sons, Brandon Lencall (Katherine) and Tyler Hair (Kayla); her father, James Lucas; her stepmother, Patricia Lucas; her brother, James “Le” Lucas, Jr.; her sisters, Michelle Pottorff (Sean), Christina Lucas, and Nicole Hastings (Cody); her grandchildren, Reagan Lencall, Hadley Lencall, Cayden Lencall, and Riley Hair; and her nieces and nephews, Joseph Wilson (BrieAnne), Lauren Wilson, Lorelei Pottorff, Abigail Pottorff, Aubrey Lucas, Clayton Cockerham, and Taylor Hastings.

Brenda loved life and lived it to the fullest. She always carried a spark of excitement and a deep love for Jesus, her family, and her friends. Brenda was a graduate of Reid Ross High School, Class of 1983. She was very active in many school activities, including music, theatre, various clubs, and student government. Some of her fondest memories were from the show choir, “Harmony.”

During her high school years, she developed a passion for helping and caring for adults and children with special needs. This led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Special Education from Methodist College. After graduating in 1991, she began her career with Cumberland County Schools as an educator for exceptional children and later served as a caseworker, a career that spanned over 20 years.

Brenda’s faith was the foundation of her life. Raised in the church, with her grandfather serving as a pastor, she began following Jesus at a very young age. Her love for the Lord remained constant throughout her life. As an adult, she faithfully served through music, singing for many years at Hair’s Chapel FWH Church and later at Fayetteville Community Church. Her faith was not only something she professed, but something she lived daily in the way she loved, encouraged, and cared for others.

Her legacy of faith, love, and joyful devotion will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home in Fayetteville, NC. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Rogers & Breece Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Hair’s Chapel FWH Church in Linden, NC.
