Cumberland hires new assistant county manager
Brian Haney has been hired as Cumberland County’s assistant county manager for general government and stewardship. He will start April 18, County Manager Amy Cannon said in a release.
Haney has been an assistant county manager for Harnett County since 2017. He also worked three years as that county’s first community and government relations director.
He has a bachelor’s degree in English from Duke University and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
“I am pleased to welcome Brian Haney to our management team and look forward to working with him,” Cannon said.
RHA Health Services opens Fayetteville office
RHA Health Services has opened a Fayetteville office at 1014 Hay St.
The agency seeks to provide holistic care and long-term treatment to those dealing with substance abuse addiction and recovery. It provides clinical assessments, substance abuse intensive outpatient treatment, substance abuse outpatient treatment and medication-assisted treatment.
Kiersten Jones is the program director.
Diabetes education program
Harmony at Hope Mills will present a diabetes education program on March 23 from 3 to 4 p.m. at 7051 Rockfish Road.
The program is part of a monthly educational series.
Patty Landy, a registered nurse with Better Health, is the scheduled speaker. The program is expected to cover things people can do to manage their diabetes and services that are available in the community.

Marketing workshop set for March 30
An Elevate Your Brand marketing workshop is scheduled for March 30 at Cape Fear Botanical Garden.
Beth Hess, a messaging coach and owner of Keys to Your Brand Consulting, will lead two sessions: one at 9 a.m. and another at 1 p.m.
The three-hour sessions will help attendees clarify their branding message. Product- or service-based businesses, nonprofits, social media managers and others who support branding efforts may benefit from the workshop, according to the organizer.
