Celebration of Life set for Hunter Parks, others

Posted

A Celebration of Life for Douglas Hunter Parks is scheduled for 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Carolina Barn, 7765 McCormick Bridge Road, in Spring Lake.

Mr. Parks, 45, a Fayetteville native and graduate of N.C. State University, died Feb. 13, when his Pilatus PC-12/47 private aircraft crashed in Hyde County, roughly three to four miles east of Drum Inlet, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

All eight passengers, including the pilot, died. They had been on a youth duck hunting trip sponsored by Mr. Parks each year. Mr. Parks’ girlfriend, Stephanie Ann Fulcher, 42, and her 15-year-old son Jonathan Kole McInnis were among the crash victims.

The celebration of Mr. Parks is a “returning home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” according to the Parks family. Miss Fulcher and her son also will be remembered.
