Charles (Charlie) Robert Covell was born December 21, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan. A United States Army Veteran, he was awarded The Bronze Star Medal with valor for his heroic actions in 1965. Residing in Fayetteville, North Carolina, he received an honorary recognition award for over 30 years of service as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service. Charlie, aka Pops, enjoyed golfing, crossword puzzles, rhubarb pie, macaroni salad, early mornings at Hardees with his friends, and watching his nightly Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Pops was a good man, a family man. He loved his wife of over 59 years, Marcia, that recently passed away; and he was very proud of his two sons Daniel and Derek, and his four grandchildren Keeland, Jerica, Brynn, and Joshua. Pops was called to eternal rest November 20, 2023. He will be greatly missed by family and friends, but thoughts of him will always bring a smile to anyone’s face who knew him. He was very much loved.
