Charles Edward LeNeave, Jr. 82, of Fayetteville passed away at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center on February 14, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Charles was born March 1, 1939, in Henderson, N.C. He grew up in Charlotte and graduated from Harding High School. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy after serving 4 years.

He was an avid outdoorsman, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nasar racing, gardening, and Carolina Basketball. He was a Mason, Charter Member of The Cumberland Bassmasters, and a Charter Member of the Four Seasons Wildlife Club. His careers include Gray and Creech, Sears, Hutson Typewriter Co, and Carolina Mortgage.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles, Sr.; his mother, Elsie Mae Gupton “Mama Pete” and his sister, Terry Ann Grissom.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Donna; son, Eddie, III (Cindy); daughter, Sandy Hall (William); granddaughter, Shelby Summerell (Stephen); step-grandchildren, Michael, and Mollie Hall; step great granddaughter, Coraline Hall; several nieces and nephews; and his stubborn yorkie, Button.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the N.C. Federal Wildlife Association, 1702 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, N.C. 27699-1702 or to one’s favorite charity.
