Cheryl Elaine Kirkendall Boesel, 63, of Hope Mills, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 4, 2025, as a result of an automobile accident.

Cheryl was born October 8, 1961, in Newark, Ohio to the late James M. and Doris M. (Stump) Kirkendall.  She graduated from Newark High School in 1980; was retired from Ryder Truck Rental in Fayetteville; and worked part-time at the CCOC Thrift Store in Sanford.  She was an avid thrifter and loved her animals.  She was known to pick up a stray or injured animal and adopt it.  She was a member of Lafayette Baptist Church in Fayetteville.  Cheryl was married to Theodore P. Boesel on October 14, 2000 and they lived with their 3 dogs and a cat.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her guardians, Kenneth and Adrienne Kilpatrick.

She is survived by her husband of almost 25 years, Theodore “Ted” Boesel; sister, Sandy (David) Waitkus of Canal Winchester, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gregory (Lori Cordle) Kirkendall of Sunbury, Ohio; John (Mandy Gibson) Kirkendall of Hebron, Ohio; and nephews and niece, Ian, Eli, and Britnie Kirkendall.  

Graveside services will be held at Newark Memorial Gardens in Newark, Ohio at a date and time to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an animal rescue center of one’s choice.
