Christine White Tatum Carter, 93, of Lexington, formerly of Fayetteville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Christine was born on August 17, 1931, in Sampson County to the late Jack White and Bessie Lee Callahan White.
She was employed with Kings Point Manufacturing where she was a seamstress until her health declined. Her hobby became sewing, where she would sew her own clothes. She enjoyed cooking and providing for her family. However, Christine loved to shop, especially at Hamrick’s. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends from 9 am to 9:50 am on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home followed by a service at 10 am. Burial will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park following the service.
In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her husbands, Wilbur Tatum and Robert P. Carter; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Boyd Wallace; and her brother, William F. White.
She is survived by her son, Tony Tatum and wife, Helen; grandchildren, Penny Wallace, Renee Pistoia, Cindy Conway, Bryan Tatum and Jonathan Tatum; and 8 great grandchildren.
