The Fayetteville City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 433 Hay St.

Among the items on the agenda:

  • Ethics Commission Amendment. This council-appointed commission investigates alleged violations of the city’s ethics policy by city employees, commission members or City Council members. An amendment to be discussed Monday will revise the rules of the board by adding a third member appointed from the general public. There are currently two commission members appointed from the public. The amendment would also remove one member now being selected from Fayetteville State University, Methodist University or Fayetteville Technical Community College.
  • Fayetteville police and fire department second-quarter review: The city fire and police chiefs will share the latest public safety data. That will include a breakdown of the types of crimes being committed and statistics relating to police and firefighting productivity.
  • Public Works Commission appointment. Four commission members are appointed by the City Council and tasked with the management, control and operation of the city’s public utility, including electric, water and sewer  operations. Five applicants are seeking one open seat; the person selected will begin a two-year term Oct 1. The council will hear from each applicant on Monday.
