City offices to close Friday to observe Veterans Day

City government offices will be closed Friday in observance of Veterans Day.  

The front lobby and records unit of the Fayetteville Police Department’s main station, at 467 Hay St., will be closed. Police reports can be filed or accessed at faypd.com, according to a city news release.

Garbage, yard waste and recycling will remain as scheduled.

Administrative offices at Fayetteville Regional Airport will be closed Friday, but all other airport operations will remain on a normal schedule.

City buses and other transit options will operate on a normal weekday schedule of 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Recreation centers will open on an abbreviated schedule of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Normal hours will resume Saturday. Administrative offices of Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation will be closed Friday.

A Veterans Day program and wreath-laying ceremony is scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday at the Blue Star Memorial sign at Freedom Memorial Park, 101 Bragg Blvd.

The Fayetteville Woodpeckers will host the annual United for Veterans program from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at Segra Stadium.
