CityEats: Bonefish Grill Makes a Big Splash

Posted

The anticipated opening of Fayetteville’s Bonefish Grill has already been a win in their first few days of business, setting a national opening record. The award-winning restaurant’s “Fresh Fish Experts” bring wood-grilled fish, seafood and a selection of chicken and steak options, innovative sauces and indulgent desserts to the Fayetteville community. Coupling great-tasting food with a welcoming bar that features an array of ‘bar-fresh’ cocktails, extensive craft beer selections and an adventurous wine list, Bonefish Grill has something for everyone, to include a lunch and Sunday brunch menu.

This past Saturday night Bonefish Grill graciously opened their doors hosting a Charity Night event where tickets sold-out weeks prior to benefit the USO of North Carolina. Restaurant favorites were paired with freshly made, colorful cocktails for its guests that garnered more than $9,180 for the organization’s programs.

“Our event with USO North Carolina was the best way for us to make our debut into the Fayetteville community,” said Chris Turlington, managing partner of the new Bonefish Grill location. “We are proud to have been able to help our servicemen and women through our support of this amazing group, and are very excited to now open our doors to the whole community. We look forward to showing off our big-city bar and attentive chef’s coat service.”

Patrons can expect to dive into a culinary experience, choosing from signature appetizers including Bonefish Grill’s famous Bang Bang Shrimp®, PEI Mussels Josephine and eight different species of fish. Should guests select a simply-grilled fish, it is paired with a choice of four signature sauces.

The 5,208-square-foot Fayetteville restaurant features a spacious dining room with an open kitchen and a large, energetic bar area that includes three community tables. The interior’s sleek design features beautiful golden hardwood and hand-blown glass amber lamps throughout the restaurant. An attractive array of three-dimensional art, ranging from large-scale metal sculptures of mangroves and fishing scenes to a large mystical fish rubbing, enhances the ambience felt throughout the restaurant.

Tuesday evening traffic was a steady flow of eager residents for dinner. An additional choice of menu options is available for a limited time. From that menu I ordered the ‘Kate’s Wild North Atlantic Haddock with Feta and Artichokes’. The light fish entrée was dusted with a garlic crumb topping, before being wood-grilled and topped with a lemon basil butter sauce, served on garlic whipped potatoes. I sampled another entrée favorite, ‘Lobster Thermidor Dorado (Mahi)’. The Mahi was topped with sweet lobster, lump crab with traces of sherry in the velvety sauce, also served atop garlic whipped potatoes.

The ‘Beet and Goat Cheese Salad’ looked almost too pretty to eat. The beets are poached in- house and the liquid is reserved to make a healthy, light vinaigrette. Topping the festive looking salad, their candied pecans are also made in-house along with slices of their Chevre goat cheese.

Sunday brunch is sure to be a favorite. Their hours run from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. During brunch, diners can decide between the beloved ‘Traditional Eggs Benedict’ or the classic ‘Surf and Turf Eggs Benedict’ and ‘Huevos Benedictos’ with crispy corn tortillas and chorizo. Other dishes include the ‘Crème Brulee French Toast’ battered in orange zest, made with Grand Marnier and served with whipped cream, fresh mint, strawberries and bacon.

For a limited time, each Tuesday Bonefish Grill features: Tuesday Tales of Lobster at amazing prices ranging from $7 to $17.

Dinner is served seven days a week. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
