The Board of Commissioners on Monday is expected to consider a contract for sanitary sewer work in north Cumberland County.
On Nov. 15, the board decided on Freese and Nichols Inc. for engineering services for capital improvements to the NORCRESS sanitary sewer system, according to information in the board’s agenda packet. NORCRESS is the Northern Cumberland Regional Sewer System.
On Monday, the board is expected to consider an approximately $293,000 contract with the company. The project will include new electrical equipment and generators moved at the system’s four lift stations (Falcon, Godwin, Wade 1 and Wade 2); systemwide inflow and infiltration reduction; lift station pump repairs in Wade; and additional testing and inspection for a force main in Falcon.
The work is set to begin as soon as the contract is approved.
The board also is expected to recognize Pamela Story as the 2022 National Homeless Liaison of the Year.
Board members also will consider nominations for the Senior Citizens Advisory Commission, which has two vacancies; the Cumberland County Local Emergency Planning Committee, which has one vacancy; the Cumberland County Workforce Development Board, which has two vacancies; and the Cape Fear Valley Health System Board of Trustees, which has three vacancies. They also will consider appointments for the Equalization and Review Board, Mid-Carolina Aging Advisory Council and the Joint Fort Bragg & Cumberland County Food Policy Council.
The board meets at 6:45 p.m. in Room 118 at the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse.
