CrimeStoppers tip leads to arrest of 3 on drug, firearms charges

An anonymous tip to CrimeStoppers led to the arrests of three people on drug charges, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.

The tip prompted officers with the department’s Central District Community Empowerment Response Team (CERT) to obtain search warrants for two residences, according to a news release.   

Investigators found narcotics at a residence in the 1700 block of Wellons Drive.  

Wayne Davis, 50, was arrested on Feb. 23. He was charged with possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana; manufacturing marijuana; felony possession of marijuana; possession with intent to sell or distribute a controlled substance; felony possession of a controlled substance; and maintaining a dwelling for dealing in drugs, according to the release.

Davis received a $15,000 unsecured bond. 

In a search of a home in the 2200 block of Memory Street, officers found marijuana, a firearm, and ammunition.  

Demond Esters, 39, was arrested on March 2 and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon; possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana; manufacturing marijuana; felony possession of marijuana; felony maintaining a vehicle for dealing in drugs; felony maintaining a dwelling for dealing in drugs; and felony conspiracy, the release said.

Esters received a $35,000 secured bond. 

Jennifer Heule, 42, also was arrested on March 2 after the Memory Street house was searched. She was charged with felony possession of marijuana; maintaining a dwelling for drug dealing; and felony conspiracy.

Heule received a $5,000 unsecured bond.
