Graduation week is almost here for more than 3,700 high school seniors in Cumberland County Schools.

As thousands of students, parents, and loved ones prepare to celebrate the Class of 2026, the school district  encouraged families to review logistics ahead of ceremonies at the Crown Coliseum to avoid delays or surprises at the door.

Hereโ€™s what families should know before heading to graduation.

Arrive Early

Cumberland County Schools recommended that guests arrive at least one hour before the ceremony begins to allow time for parking, security screening, and entry into the venue.

Late arrivals may experience delays entering the Crown Coliseum as guests move through security checkpoints.

What You Canโ€™t Bring

Families hoping to celebrate with flowers, balloons, or signs may want to make alternate plans.

According to the school district, several celebratory items are prohibited inside the Crown Coliseum:

  • Flowers
  • Balloons
  • Posters and signs
  • Stuffed animals
  • Gifts, whether wrapped or unwrapped
  • Fans and leis
  • Outside food and drinks
  • Backpacks and large purses
  • Weapons or concealed items
  • Cigarettes and smoke products

Guests are encouraged to review venue guidelines before arriving to avoid having to return items to their vehicles.

Understand Ticket Rules

Graduates receive a designated number of tickets for family and friends.

Families needing additional tickets should contact their studentโ€™s school directly, as availability and procedures may vary by campus.

Accessibility Seating Available

The Crown Coliseum offers accessible seating for guests with special needs on the concourse level. One companion may sit alongside the guest needing accommodations.

However, Cumberland County Schools noted that wheelchairs are not provided by the Crown Coliseum, meaning families should plan ahead if mobility assistance is needed.

No Prolonged Applause, Please

District officials also asked guests to keep celebrations respectful while graduates cross the stage.

The school district asked attendees to avoid excessive yelling or prolonged applause during name announcements so families can hear their studentโ€™s name being called.

Photos, Livestreams Allowed

Families may take photos and videos from their seats during ceremonies.

Guests bringing tripods must use designated areas on the concourse level behind seating sections.

For family members unable to attend in person, graduation ceremonies will also be livestreamed online.
