Dave was born in Story City, Iowa on April 4, 1966, to Doris and Jim Skare. Upon graduating from Roland-Story High School, he attended Des Moines Area Community College in Boone, Iowa. Dave was married to Priscilla Espeland for 31 years and spent the majority of his adult life residing in North Carolina, working in the profession of project management.
Dave will be remembered for his love of dogs and for the joy he found in sports, whether playing basketball or spending time on the golf course. He cherished his morning rides to wake up, always accompanied by music, and liked cooking, swimming, and being outdoors. He enjoyed spending his free time working in the yard and landscaping.
He had a generous heart and gave selflessly of his time, often helping those in need by providing rides to appointments and job interviews.
Above all, Dave was a man of faith and dearly loved his family. He fought the good fight and tried his best. The Lord called him home on December 27, 2025. Dave leaves behind his sisters, Vickey Peters (Tim) and Kathy Ballard (Craig), his brothers Bob Skare and Bill Skare (Kristi), along with many nieces, nephews, and others who loved him.
