Cumberland County Solid Waste Management, the city of Fayetteville and Sustainable Sandhills will host an Electronic Waste Drive on Saturday at the Ann Street Landfill.
The event will be from 8 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The landfill is at 698 Ann St.
The e-Waste Drive is an opportunity for Cumberland County residents to properly dispose of old, broken or unwanted electronic devices that could contain hazardous materials, such as lead, the county said in a release. Properly disposing of electronic waste will help prolong the life of the landfill, prevent habitat destruction and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the release said.
Residents should use lane three of the scale house to enter the recycling center. Signs will be placed throughout the landfill to assist with traffic and directions. Participants should remain in their cars while volunteers unload and sort electronics, the county said.

The e-Waste Drive will not affect normal landfill operations.
Residents will also have the opportunity to view new landfill features and amenities, including the scale house, the Residential Convenience Center with multiple bins and compactors for self-sorting, and several cosmetic updates.
