Eloise Tew Duncan, 101, of Fayetteville North Carolina passed to join her savior in Heaven peacefully at home on Oct 8 2025, with family members by her side. Born in Sampson County, North Carolina on April 14, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Robert I. and Rovella McLamb Tew

Eloise was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Thomas B. Duncan, her parents, her brothers, Samuel, Oscar, Duvelle, Robert (R.I. Jr.), Hubert and sister, Lola and many friends and family she dearly loved.

Eloise is survived by her loving daughter Carolyn Ramirez (Rudy), grandchildren Beverly Gregory, Ronald Gregory (Beth) and Donna Thornton (Trebor), and Sean Ramirez, her great grandchildren Kaden McCombs (Gwen), Karlee Redden (Kade) and along with many great and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and adopted daughter Helen Bell. She was a pillar of strength, with a heart full of kindness and love. Her love for her family was deep and unwavering, and her faith was the foundation of all she did. She was Granny, Ma Dunc or Granny Duncan to many who met her in life.

Eloise graduated from Mingo High School in 1941 and entered the workforce as an office worker for Colonial Stores. She and Thomas, then owner/operators of Duncan’s Atlantic, and later in the auto parts business as owner of Duncan’s Auto Parts, both located in Haymont Hill until her retirement in 2001. She was famous for rearranging furniture in her home. Her husband once stated the furniture is not worn out by people sitting on it, but by moving it around. She enjoyed working in the garden, canning, and cooking, especially preparing chicken pastry when her son-in-law visited during the summer. She was loved by all who interacted with her on a daily basis. She loved her annual trips to Myrtle Beach where she always said it was beautiful and a great place to spend time with family and friends. She was a member of Eureka Baptist Church since 1980.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM, October 18th at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home with Pastor Glen Slelton officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will be greeting friends at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home prior to her services from 12:30 PM to 1:15PM.
