The Keynote Speaker is Suzanne Pennick, Broker Associate for the HPS, Inc. group.
Suzanne started her real estate career in 1974 in Fayetteville, NC. In 1975 she opened her own small independent firm of Suzanne Barlow REALTORS which she operated until 2000. It was during that year that she merged her real estate company with Larry Strother to form Pennink and Strother Real Estate. Not long after the merger they purchased an ERA franchise. In 2001 they merged their company with Coldwell Banker United Realty to form the HPS, Inc. group with Ralph Huff.
Suzanne has served in just about every position in the local and state association of REALTORS including President of the Association in 1992 and REALTOR of the year in 1994. She has served as a state director of NCAR from 1992 thru 2006 and won the coveted NC Association of REALTORS Citizenship Award in 2003. Suzanne currently serves on the state legislative committee and is the director for the Fayetteville Association of REALTORS.
As a NC licensed general contractor, she has built homes and developed subdivisions in the Cumberland County area. Suzanne served as president of the Fayetteville Homebuilders Association in 1998 and as their treasurer in 2003. She served on the Cumberland County 2010 Planning Committee. Suzanne also served on the Historic Resources Commission for the City of Fayetteville and was chairwoman for two years.
Serving on the Ft. Bragg/Fayetteville Housing Task Force from 1996 thru 1999 she was awarded the Commander's Award for Public Service in 1997.
As an active supporter of the local arts community, she works on many boards and fund raising projects and served as the President of the Arts Council of Fayetteville in 1991-1992. She received the Athena Award, given by the Chamber of Commerce in 1997, and the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award given by Methodist College in 1989. In 2003, Suzanne received the Realtors Citizenship Award from the North Carolina State Association of Realtors Association and currently serves on the Foundation Board of Fayetteville Technical Community College.
Suzanne is married to Dr. Menno Pennink and has 3 children and one fabulous 6 year old grandson.
