Five Cumberland students earn spots in High School Honors Chorus

Five Cumberland County students have qualified for the 2022 North Carolina High School Honors Chorus, according to a school system news release.

The students are:

  • Selah Apollo, soprano, of Jack Britt High School.
  • Justice Stiff, bass, of Pine Forest High School.
  • Georgia Ross, soprano, of Gray's Creek High School.
  • Abby Hast, alto, of Gray's Creek High School.
  • Nick Jones, bass, of Gray's Creek High School.

The students are among 179 singers from 78 schools accepted into the Honors Chorus, the release said.

Auditions for the eastern part of the state were held Sept. 24 at Methodist University.

The chorus will perform in concert as part of the N.C. Music Educators Association conference at 3 p.m. Nov. 6 at the UNC School of the Arts Stevens Center in Winston-Salem.
