Fort Bragg soldier found unresponsive, later pronounced dead


Fort Bragg officials say a soldier was found unresponsive in a parked vehicle in Fayetteville on Friday and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The cause of death is under investigation.

The soldier was assigned to U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg officials said in a release. They did not say where the vehicle was parked, when the soldier was found or who found the soldier.

The soldier was taken to Womack Army Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, the release said.

Additional information will be available pending notification of next of kin, the release said.
