FTCC Board of Trustees forms committee to help in search for new president

Posted

The Fayetteville Technical Community College Board of Trustees has formed a search committee to help in the school’s search for its next president.

Larry Keen, who has been president of the community college since Aug. 1, 2007, announced earlier this year that he is retiring Jan. 1.

The search committee includes members of the FTCC Board of Trustees, faculty, staff and student body. David R. Williford, chairman of the Board of Trustees, is chairman of the search committee.

The public will have the opportunity to offer input on the next college president during several public forums and through a survey, FTCC said in a release.

Three public forums will be held in Cumberland Hall Auditorium at 2215 Hull Road on FTCC’s Fayetteville campus. They are scheduled for:

  • April 26 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
  • April 27 from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
  • April 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

A public forum is also scheduled for the Spring Lake campus at 171 Laketree Blvd. on April 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The survey is available at https://www.research.net/r/FTCC_Search

Information from the public forums will be used to help develop a profile that will be used as part of a national search for the new president.

FTCC is the third largest of the state’s 58 community colleges.
