Geraldine Ivey Crumpler, 90, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Geraldine was born on November 19, 1935, in Cumberland County to the late Leon Waycliffe Ivey and Hesba Faircloth Ivey. She was a 1953 graduate of Stedman High School and later retired from Highland Lumber Company after 28 years of dedicated service.
Known for her warm heart and generous spirit, Geraldine was an excellent cook whose specialties included red velvet cake, lemon meringue pie, and potato casserole. She especially loved cooking for her family during the holidays, finding joy in bringing everyone together around the table. Her hobbies included painting and watching classic films and westerns; Gone With the Wind and The Thorn Birds were among her favorites.
Geraldine was steadfast in her faith and was the last charter member of Temple Baptist Church, where she faithfully taught Sunday School. The most important goal of her life was ensuring that her family knew Jesus Christ and had eternal security through Him.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Lafayette Memorial Park.
In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Linwood Crumpler, and her sister, Hilda I. Phillips.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Crumpler and wife Peggy; her daughter, Ann C. Tew and husband Gary; and her grandchildren, Victoria Crumpler and Savannah Crumpler Baroody and husband Alex.
