The annual Soiree for the Partnership for Children of Cumberland County is just around the corner!
This year’s Soiree theme is “Roaring 20’s” in celebration of the non-profit’s 20th anniversary.
It’s all happening Saturday, March 8 at Embassy Suites.
Expect the evening to feature:
· 1920’s music by Orchestra Casablanca, a 13-piece jazz band out of Raleigh
· 1920’s inspired culinary creations from the Head Chef at Embassy Suites
· Unique raffle items
· Dance instructors from Roland’s to help guide partygoers through the dance styles of the 1920s
· Mission moment opportunities
· And a whole lot of fun!
Don’t worry… since it’s 2014 and no prohibition is going on… the libations will be flowing!
Soiree is black-tie optional and 1920s themed attire is encouraged.
So where can you look for 20s themed garb in Fayetteville to look “hotsy-totsy?”
Thanks to the popularity of last year’s movie remake of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, accessories from that era are an easy find in our area.
As far as decking yourself in flapper fare- you may want to try eBay, Party City, Amazon or any of our awesome thrift and consignment options around town.
Here are a few of my favorite accessories finds from Ethos Boutique on Raeford Road and LOFT, Lane Bryant and Versona Accessories all located at The District of Cross Creek Mall. Multi-talented Taylor Williams at Mopheads Salon on Ramsey Street can customize headwear- a band or turban- to match your dress. Reach her at the salon, 910.884.1274.
