Gordon Herring, 70, of Supply, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, December 27th, 2025, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Gordon was born on June 9, 1955, in Sampson County, North Carolina, to the late Charlotte Jones Herring and Stewart Herring. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Herring.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Wanda Herring of the home; his daughter, Crystal Strahley of Fayetteville; his son, James Herring (Breezy) of Bloomville, Ohio; his sister, Kathy Lencall (Jerry Marvin) of Linden, North Carolina; his brother, Ronnie Herring of Stedman, North Carolina; his five cherished grandchildren, Logan, Morgan, and Teagun Strahley, and Gage and Brayden Herring; and Jordan Jackson.
Gordon devoted his life to providing for his family and serving his community. For nearly 50 years, he successfully owned and operated an HVAC, electrical, and plumbing company. He was known for his exceptional quality workmanship, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others in need. Above all else, Gordon was a proud and loving grandfather who adored his grandchildren. He treasured every moment spent with them and took great joy in watching them grow.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. in the Rogers & Breece Chapel, with burial to follow at Lafayette Cemetery on Ramsey Street.
