Health Department expands COVID-19 testing hours

The Cumberland County Health Department is expanding its testing hours for COVID -19 starting Tuesday.

The testing, done in partnership with Optum Serv, will be available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of the Health Department, according to a news release Monday. The Health Department is at 1235 Ramsey St.

The testing is free. People may pre-register at www.cumberlandcountync.gov/covid19/testing/locations.

Testing had been available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Health Department also has free at-home COVID-19 rapid antigen testing kits, the release said. The tests, which are available while supplies last, may be picked up during the week. No appointment is required, and there is a limit of two kits per person, the release said.

People also may schedule appointments for a COVID-19 vaccine on the county’s COVID-19 vaccine page at cumberlandcountync.gov/covid19/vaccination. An online application form allows people to choose a date and time for their first, second or third dose, the release said.

Upcoming clinics are scheduled for weekdays in the third-floor auditorium of the Health Department. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments are not required.
