Howard Warren, 91, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 5, 2024. His bride of 64 years, Annie Dean Warren, was by his side.

Howard was born on February 29, 1932, in Cumberland County, NC, to the late Harvey Warren and Lillie Ann Lucas Warren. He was preceded in death by his newborn son, Stephen Vinson Warren; parents, Harvey Warren and Lillie Ann Lucas Warren; and siblings, Handy Warren, Grace Groves, Lessie Tew, Linwood Warren, Edgar “Tink” Warren, Elma Maxwell and Larry Owen Warren.

Howard loved the Lord, his personal Savior.  He was fully devoted to his wife, loved his family, and cherished spending time with his lifelong friends.  He enjoyed watching Duke University athletics, spending time at his beach home and took great pride in growing his tomatoes and geraniums. After 20 years of service, Howard retired as a Master Sergeant with the US Air Force. Later, he worked as a Deputy with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, retiring after 12 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Dean Warren; children, Terrie Ruehle and husband Tim, Debbie Tisdale and husband Wally, Timothy Warren and wife Pam, and Pamela Jacobs and husband David; grandchildren, Brittany Milligan and husband Joseph, Brian Tisdale, Lindsay Grant and husband Wes and Cody Ohm; great-grandchildren, Emma, Jackson, Kinley, Brantley, Ben, Warren, Wells and Aubrey; and sister, Reba Jean McPhail.

A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Lafayette Memorial Park, 2301 Ramsey St., Fayetteville, NC 28301.
