James Michael Locklear, 48, passed away on Monday, January 3rd, 2022, due to medical complications. Mike was born in Laurinburg, NC on November 19th, 1973, to Gracie Cummings and the late Romie Locklear.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melanie; his father, Romie; and brother and sister, Tony and Nikki.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Makayla Locklear and husband, Zachary Yarborough of Raeford, NC; mother, Gracie Cummings Goins of Hope Mills, NC; sister, Kelly “Nikki” Goins of Fayetteville, NC; three grandsons, James Dawson, Grayson Michael and Jackson Gabriel; two nieces, Jada and Jasmine; and one nephew, Jordan Goins and many more family and friends.
Mike enjoyed racing, fishing, cooking for his family, and most of all spending time with those he loved.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 Pm Sunday, January 9th, 2022, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home with Reverend Ricky Barnette officiating. Interment will follow the service at Rockfish Memorial Park. The family will greet friends prior the service at 1:00 Pm to 1:45 Pm.
