Jane McDonald Hughes, 86, passed away on November 15th, 2022.
Jane is preceded in death by her father, Haywood Franklin McDonald; mother, Lucille McLaurin McDonald; husband, Laurice Miller Hughes; sons, Franklin Miller Hughes, and Mark Miller Hughes; and infant daughter. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, John McDonald Hughes and wife, Patricia of Fayetteville, Matthew Lewis Hughes and wife, Meredith of Leland, Heather Hughes Tart and husband, Brian of Elizabethtown, and daughter in law, Mellissa Pope Hughes of Autryville; brothers, Kenneth McDonald and wife, Linda of Fayetteville, Robert McDonald and wife, Wylene of Wrightsville Beach; six grandchildren, Kimberly, Allison, Hayden, Emily, Macy, Max, and Brian; and three great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Hunter, and Myla Miller.
After a 26-year Marine Corps career, Jane and her husband, Laurice of 58 years settled in White Lake, North Carolina. Jane enjoyed a 20+ year career at the White Lake Town Hall as Town Clerk. She was known in the community for her cooking, crafts, and her dedication to church. Jane really enjoyed being apart of the community and taking care of others.
Please join us on Friday, November 18th, 2022, at 11 AM for her Interment in Lafayette Memorial Park, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12 PM at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Darrell Copeland officiating.
