JoAnn Rozier Smith, 81, of Fayetteville went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 23, 2023.
JoAnn was born to the late Manuel Clarence Rozier and Maudell Rozier on May 5, 1942, in Lumberton, NC. Besides her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Glenn Smith, and sister Brenda Carlyle.
JoAnn leaves many cherished memories to her daughter, Sherri Fux, and husband John; grandson, Alex Fux, and his wife Marissa; and one great-grandchild, Dawson Fux. JoAnn was a woman of faith and compassion....who loved being with her family and spending time at the beach. When at home she loved working in her garden. She cherished time spent with friends and enjoyed holding festivities with the most delicious homemade meals.
JoAnn graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in education, she received her Master's Degree in Education from East Carolina University.
JoAnn retired after a thirty-year career in education from Cumberland County Schools.
There will be a visitation for family and friends on Monday, October 2, 2023, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2505 Village Dr., Fayetteville, NC 28304. A Celebration of Life service honoring JoAnn will be held immediately following the visitation on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 12:00 pm. A private burial will be held with the immediate family.
